Christian has been blind since the age of one

Christian (18) has been blind, since he was one year old. He lost his sight after an accident. The doctors sentenced him to a life of darkness. But now the young 18-yearold man reads books and happily bikes around. A visit with a danish acupuncturist gave him back his sight.
A Professor from the eye clinic in Hamburg wrote an attest saying, that my headinjury had blinded med for good, says Christian.
I could see a faint light through my right eye, and I went to basic school in a school for the blind in Hamburg.
My fostermother had read in a magazine-article, that the danish acupuncturist John Boel could make the blind see, but I was very sceptical, says Christian.
It was very obvious to me, that all posibilities should be tried, says father Raimond: I telephoned John Boel in Aulum, Jutland, and made an appointment for my son. John could not promise any results, but we were not about to give up in advance.
After two days of treatment, we were having lunch together. “Isn´t there a fog in the air”, asked Christian. He was pointing to the steam coming from the cup of coffee. I understood, that Johns needles had begun to work.
On the way home, Christian was seeing the numbers on numberplates. Just 7 days earlier, he had not been able to do that.
”Now I have been to Denmark and been treated for all in all six weeks. My sight grows better and better each time. This summer, my vision was so good, that I started an education to be a turner just like my father. The instruction is a piece of cake. I can read books and attend the classes. The only thing, I need special equipment for, is when I have to do very delicate turns in steel, but with the help of a monitor, my turns become as good as the other students´”, says Christian.
John Boel tells, that he himself was surprised over how fast Christian recovered his sight. For me, it is a great experience to see, how the boys personality has changed as well. When he came at first, he was shy and withdrawn. Now we are confronted with an open and happy young man, who wants to live life.
